Poem: The Path

The path it winds deep in the wood
The trees are full and lush
I know not if take I should
For falls an eery hush.

A hint of mystery seeps among the trees
Like a fog rising off the water
Should I go on, knowing not where it leads
Lord, help my steps not falter.

The sky obscured, the light is dim
The road lay out before me
In faith I walk, rely on Him
For though I cannot see clearly.

This is the path, I have been set upon
But the way does not seem clear
Father, I pray, please lead me on,
His voice I wait to hear.

“Trust me” arises in each tenuous stride
Until my soul grows brave and bold
Onward I trek in firm confide
Knowing in Who I am to hold.

And when I reach my journey’s end
Having defeated the great unknown
For once rounded past the final bend
I will arrive safely, to my Home.

And there my joy will abound
Through all the struggles I stood
My loved ones lost now to me found
And God proves He is Good!
